Book Review: The Life and Death of Giants.
I was absolutely blown away by this book. The “giant” wasn’t only the 19lb baby- yup. 19lb baby!—i think it's the idea of everything we cling to in order to live our lives. What struck me most was how the author layered this theme on so many fronts: faith, fear, even the quiet routines we take for granted. Each page felt like it was asking me to look closer at the things I hold fast to- giants, if you will- and whether they’re helping me live—or holding me back. Such a intriguing and full story.. I didn't want it to end. Ever.
The writing is powerful without being overdone, weaving story and symbolism in a way that lingers long after the last page- you totally can listen to this book without even thinking about the layers of giants interwoven in.. but when was the last time you really listened to the lights "hum" or microwave run.. When I finished the book, I was both rattled and inspired—my kind of perfect read.
If you’re looking for a book that challenges, moves, and stays with you, The Life and Death of Giants deserves a place on your shelf.
